Coffee Shop at Salisbury Museum

The coffee shop is superbly located at the front of the Museum opposite Salisbury Cathedral. It offers light lunches and snacks rather than a full restaurant menu. Its primary purpose is to offer refreshments to Museum visitors, but it is also used by visitors to the Close and the Cathedral. Approximately 5,000 people specifically visit the coffee shop, in addition to the 18,000 people who come to the Museum every year.

The Museum would like to see a fresh approach to the management of this important aspect of our service. We would like the coffee shop to appeal to a broad range audiences, ranging from families with young children to the elderly. The kitchen and dining room will need to be modernised and we would expect the franchise holder to help the Museum fund this work.

The Museum is looking for proposals which will include a sample menu and an outline of how the coffee shop could be improved. We would also like a draft business plan that should give an outline of how the coffee shop will be managed and developed. The deadline for applications is 24th October 2008.

We would welcome the opportunity to have an informal meeting with any potential franchise holders. For more details phone Anne Jensen or Adrian Green at Salisbury Museum on 01722 332151, email:
