The archaeologist Carenza Lewis (University of Lincoln) is a familiar face to TV audiences, having featured on the much-loved Channel 4 series Time Team from 1994-2004 and many other series. She has long associations with Wiltshire and has published extensively on medieval settlements in the county and elsewhere. Her recent research includes calculating the drop-off in finds of pottery sherds after the Black Death struck in 1348, revealing ‘eye-watering’ falls in population within English rural communities.
