TALK: New Forest Folklore with Vikki Bramshaw

Thursday, March 19, 2026

SOLD OUT

New Forest folklorist Vikki Bramshaw takes us through some of the legends, superstitions and magic of the New Forest and Hampshire and its neighbouring counties. From black dog folklore to curses and cures, we explore the fascinating beliefs of our local ancestors and the land they lived in.

Vikki is an author, researcher and folklore lecturer specialising in the New Forest. Her work explores the region’s history, culture, spirituality and natural environment through the lens of folk belief and tradition. Vikki shares her passion for folklore through public lectures and workshops, and has collaborated with organisations including the New Forest Heritage Centre and the Christopher Tower Reference Library. In December 2024, she appeared as a guest historian on BBC Dan Snow’s History Hit.
