Auroch’s Horn

Aurochs were a type of very large wild cattle that had been living in Britain since the end of the last Ice Age. They became extinct after being hunted out of existence. This horn is probably from a large male. These are very rare finds with only very few so far found across Britain. This example was found during the excavations at Durrington Walls, a henge monument not far from Stonehenge.
