Still Life

Still life was an art form favoured especially from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century, particularly in Europe. By the eighteenth century, still life paintings were still very popular but artists were choosing to focus on typical kitchen table settings, rather than the previous common subjects of religion.

This still life is very typical of the style of the time, depicting hunted game and vegetables hanging in a kitchen.
