Signed and dated 21 June 1942. The opposite view to theĀ Entrance Gates, Edith Olivier looking towards the artist whose American car is parked in the shade. When Rex Whistlerā€™s battalion left Wiltshire he left two car-loads of his possessions at the Daye House and gave Edith his petrol coupons.
