Signed and dated 21 June 1942. The opposite view to theĀ Entrance Gates, Edith Olivier looking towards the artist whose American car is parked in the shade. When Rex Whistler’s battalion left Wiltshire he left two car-loads of his possessions at the Daye House and gave Edith his petrol coupons.
