Museum Donations

Every year hundreds of our visitors and members make donations to help towards the running costs of the museum. This includes donations towards the costs of buying artefacts, works of art and books. Donations also help towards more every day costs such as conservation materials for artefacts. For example:

£1 buys a bag to pack an object

£10 is the price of an acid free box

£100 frames a work of art

£1,000 conserves a new acquisition

£10,000 pays for a temporary exhibition

£100,000 refurbishes the museum shop

Every donation we receive is truly appreciated and makes a real difference to the work that we do.

The museum as a charity, can claim the tax paid on your donation, however large or small, through Gift Aid. Presently this equates to an additional 25p for every £1 you give.
