Summer Discovery Day ~ Climb a Monolith!

Tuesday, August 6, 2024

Up, up and away!

Back by very popular demand, is our annual ‘Climb A Monolith’  event.

In the front garden of the museum we will have a huge climbing wall. This ‘monolith’  is the same height as the highest stones of Stonehenge.

Accompanying us for the day will be our friends from English Heritage, Stonehenge who will be bringing their superb hands on collection of objects which would have been very familiar to the Neolithic people who built Stonehenge.

Have a go at climbing a stone as high as Stonehenge, meet Stonehenge experts and experience their very special replicas and then explore the museum’s Wessex Gallery and see the unique collection of real artefacts from the World Heritage Site.

Can YOU climb the monolith? If you fit into a harness, yes you can!

Don’t forget to wear trainers and see you there!
