Director’s Walk: Mere & White Sheet Hill

Saturday, October 19, 2024

10am – 4pm

Join museum Director Adrian Green on a circular walk around Mere exploring Neolithic, Iron Age and Medieval archaeology.

This 8-mile walk will start at Mere and go out over the A303 to White Sheet Hill. After exploring the many sites on this dramatic chalk downland we will drop down to the edge of the Stourhead Estate and return to our cars via Castle Hill in Mere.

Precise details of the meeting point will be sent in your booking confirmation email. Picnic lunch will be needed. Note that this is a countryside walk with steep climbs and uneven ground.

Limited to 25 places – early booking advised.
