Exhibition Opening Event ~ Fashioning Our World

Saturday, February 10, 2024 

The exhibition will be officially opened by clothing designer and TV personality Patrick Grant, at the launch event for the whole family on Saturday 10th February.

You are invited to join our celebration exhibition opening of Fashioning Our World, Unpicking the past to thread together the future.

A day of activities for all ages, with lots of hands on things to do for everyone interested in the fashion world, and a sustainable future for the clothing industry.

As well as visiting the exhibition on its premiere day we invite you to;

Explore the stories that clothes from the past tell and think differently about sustainable fashion.

Learn the practical skills to reuse and repurpose your own wardrobe.

Inspire others to make more sustainable choices in the future.

Joining us for this special day will be:

~ ‘The Swish’ offering a free drop-in Trashion workshop, book reading  as well as pop up fashion shows,

~ Eco-tainment with DJ Lee spinning vinyls for your pleasure

~ Arty fun with the museum team making fashion accessories for the whole family

~ Meet the ‘Fashioning Our World’ team and hear how the exhibition was put together

~ ‘Foxtrot Vintage Clothing’ for a sustainable clothing shopping opportunity

and of course, meet a real Great British Sewing Bee, Patrick Grant!
