Summer Discovery Day ~ Climb a Monolith!

Tuesday, August 15, 2023

It’s back for its summer appearance at the museum!

The same height as the mighty Sarsen stones of Stonehenge, we have the Wiltshire Outside Learning Team back at the museum with their giant climbing wall.

Climb this mighty monolith and learn all about the real Stonehenge from our friends from English Heritage, Stonehenge, who will be joining us all day with their superb Neolithic handling collection. These experts can tell you all about what is known about Stonehenge and the World Heritage Site, and also what intriguing mysteries still remain about the stones…

If you can fit into a harness (provided), then you can climb. That pretty much means all the family!

Museum entry to climb the monolith.

One day only. Don’t miss out on our annual monolith mayhem. It’s a lot of fun!
