Summer Story Challenge 2024

Friday, July 26, 2024

to Sunday, September 1, 2024

The Salisbury Museum Summer Story Challenge is back!

Launched last year, this fantastic summer holidays activity is open to our young visitors to take part in once again from Friday 26th July – Sunday 1st September 2024.

With so much more to discover now that the new galleries are open, which object will you choose to tell the story of?

There are levels for all ages for you to tell us a story about our objects. The winning submissions will receive the amazing prize of a ‘be a curator’ experience here at the museum for the day!

Last year’s winners had a great time with the Director of the Museum, handling objects and curating their own display. You can find out more and be inspired here.

Pick up your pack from our front desk when you visit and choose which challenge to take part in. You can draw your story on a story board, give us a snappy ten bullet point story, or write a one page wonder.

Each participating child gets free return entry to the museum to find out as much as possible about their chosen object. You can find the full details on our website or ask at the front desk for more information.

We want to know all about our objects: where did they come from? how were they made? who used them and how? with the finale being of course, how they came to be on display here at Salisbury Museum.

Look out for highlighted objects throughout the museum to inspire your story by finding the ‘Summer Story Challenge’ signs and talking to our volunteers.

Be a story detective and find the clues to our objects’ history!
