Wolf Road – Alice Roberts

Thursday, August 3, 2023

Join anthropologist, author and broadcaster Alice Roberts for this family event, as she reveals the inspiration behind her novel, Wolf Road.

Alice Roberts transports readers back into the depths of the Ice Age, where bands of hunter gatherers follow reindeer herds along river valleys, shamans communicate with the spirit world, and where survival depends on crafting skill and intimate knowledge of the animals and plants in the landscape. At twelve years old, Tuuli feels sure she knows almost everything there is to know about her world – and what the future may hold for her. But the appearance of a strange boy in the woods leads to an unlikely friendship that will challenge her worldview and change her life. An epic adventure full of wild animals, vast scenery and heart-stopping danger, inspired by real archaeological discoveries. For fans of His Dark Materials, Wolf Brother and The Last Bear, join Tuuli on the prehistoric adventure of a lifetime.

Join anthropologist, author and broadcaster Alice Roberts for this family event, as she reveals the inspiration behind her novel, Wolf Road – taking readers on a journey into the Ice Age. Find out about the archaeology that informed the book, from stone tools and animal bones to painted caves and carved mammoth ivory. And discover how cutting edge science is challenging and changing our ideas about the deep past and bringing our ancient ancestors into focus, letting us see them more clearly than ever before.
