Things To Do

With a variety of trails and activities for families to enjoy during your visit, there is always something to do at Salisbury Museum!

All activities are included in your museum admission.

Wessex Gallery Discovery Trails

Become an archaeologist and pick up a Wessex Gallery trail where you can choose your own adventure as Lieutenant General Pitt-Rivers, Patricia Christie, or an Archaeologist Today.

For very little ones, you can pick up a Little Explorer Trail from reception at the start of your visit.

Don’t forget to open all of the drawers in the gallery too, to find more intriguing objects and activities including Iron Age coin rubbing, an Anglo Saxon Grave Goods puzzle and pottery sorting and remains identification in our Archaeologists Lab.

Salisbury Gallery Stamp Trails

Choose from either Early Years or Older Children and follow the clues to find the stamps throughout the gallery!

Become a character from Salisbury’s past in our dressing up section, and explore our dolls house, recreating an historic Salisbury home.

The Natural History Gallery

Join in the discussion about how to care for our planet by adding your thoughts to our colourful peg wall and take a moment of reflection with colouring and puzzle sheets designed by local young people.

You can even touch some real fossils!

Studio Takeovers

Throughout the school holidays our new ground floor creative space gets taken over by you! Filled with dressing up, building blocks, a mini puppet theatre , a cosy book corner and more, the Studio will be open to all ages to stay and play during your museum visit.
