Salisbury Museum has a fine collection of Delft tiles. This Dutch example depicts the biblical scene of Jacob's dream of a ladder descending from heaven (Genesis chapter 28, verse 10). It is painted in manganese.
Of particular significance in the collection are the relics of the ancient guilds of Salisbury.
